Tools You’ll Need

• Screwdriver
• Voltage tester
• Wire strippers

Step 1: Power Off

Locate your circuit breaker and turn off the switch controlling the outlet.

Step 2: Test the Outlet

Use a voltage tester to ensure the outlet is safe to work on.

Step 3: Remove the Old Outlet

Unscrew the outlet cover, gently pull out the outlet, and note wire connections.

Step 4: Detach the Wires

Loosen screws and remove wires. Identify wire colors and terminals.

Step 5: Install the New Outlet

Connect wires to the correct screws, secure the outlet in the electrical box, and attach the outlet cover.

Step 6: Test and Conclude

Turn the power back on and test the outlet with a voltage tester.
